Dark and foggy, early-morning conditions may have played a role in a crash that killed a Port Alberni pedestrian yesterday.
The 60 year old man was hit by a car on Redford at 6th Avenue shortly after 7:30 am, and was taken to hospital where he died.
Port Alberni RCMP are continuing to investigate the circumstances and are awaiting the results of a collision reconstruction report, but no charges have been laid against the driver who remained on scene and was cooperative with investigators.
Further details including the name of the deceased is not being released by police.
