Port Alberni Mayor Sharie Minions says 2022 has been a productive and eventful year.
In October, she was re-elected in an election that was closer than many would have predicted, with four new members of council.
“We have a new council which is really exciting,” she said. “We have seven people who are excited to work together and excited to make positive progress in the community.”
She said council’s crowning achievements this year has been moving forward on the Somass lands development, the Ahousaht housing project at the former Cedarwood School site, and the tiny homes program on 4th Avenue.
