Regional District directors are being asked to approve plans for a Cherry Creek by-election today.
The by-election was ordered by the BC Supreme Court as voting irregularities were discovered after former Cherry Creek fire chief Mike Sparrow beat well-known outdoorsman Darren Deluca by just five votes in the October general election.
If approved, the by-election could happen on Saturday March 11th for Cherry Creek voters.
Nominations would be open from January 24th to February 3rd.
According to Wendy Thomson, ACRD General Manager of Administrative Services, the by-election process will take up 300 hours of staff time, and cost between $10,000 and $12,000
