A 64-year old former Port Alberni School Bus driver has been sentenced to 4 1/2 years in prison for sexually assaulting a child.
Crown Counsel estimated Randy Gibson sexually interfered with the girl 150 times over a 1 1/2 year period, and asked the court for a significant penitentiary sentence of 4-5 years.
Gibson told Judge Brian Hutcheson that he was deeply remorseful after losing his friends, family and his job and said he’s haunted by guilt, remorse and shame.
After release he will be restricted by many ancillary orders and be under sexual offender registry conditions for 20 years.
