Tim Pley is returning to his role as City of Port Alberni Chief Administrative Officer.
Pley retired at the end of last year after serving as CAO for the previous five years.
Mayor Sharie Minions said while the city hired an executive search firm, and interviewed some applicants, they weren’t able to fill the position as quickly as hoped.
“From council’s perspective we are grateful that Tim is willing to come back and we’re excited to have him back,” she said. “We do have so many critical initiatives underway and we want to make sure that we continue progress on those without slowing down at all.The contract is only to the end of this year so he’s not back permanently but a great interim option.”
Minions said they will repost the position after the October 22nd municipal election so the next council can select their CAO.
