City launches OCP survey

As Port Alberni grows, the city wants to know your visions of change.
As part of the rewriting of the Official Community Plan, the city has launched an online survey.
Mayor Sharie Minions says this is the first of its planned public engagement tools.
“There will be opportunities for open houses and different ways to engage as we move through this process,” she said. “The more people we can have the better, and often an online survey is an informal way for people to give input who might not have time otherwise.”
Minions said she’s expecting a strong response from the city’s engaged social media community
“We want as many people as possible whether they live in the City of Port Alberni, the surrounding areas, or just have an interest in the community, maybe grew up here and are looking to come back, we want engagement from as many people as possible so that we can really understand what the community wants as we build this plan that really will guide the future of the community,” she said.
The survey takes around 15 minutes to complete.
