A Port Alberni man is dead and a woman in Alberta is charged with his murder.
Police and paramedics were called to the scene in Leduc on Sunday for a report of an aggravated assault.
Upon their arrival, they found a seriously wounded man, identified as 44-year-old Patrick Ford of Port Alberni, who died as a result of his injuries.
Thirty-three-year-old Tyra Phillips of Lac La Biche is charged with second-degree murder, and will appear in Leduc Provincial Court tomorrow.
Ford, who is known to local police, was due to appear in court in Port Alberni next month on 23 drug and firearm charges.
