Another Island Summer Festival has been cancelled.
The annual Okee Dokey Slo-Pitch tournament and Funtastic Music Festival scheduled for the Canada Day long weekend has been cancelled again this year according to organizer Paul Robertson.
We’re sure missing donating all the funds we raise every year to all the charities in town, and seeing all the ball players and sponsors, and the whole weekend of hoopla in Port Alberni is pretty cool on Canada Day,” said Robertson.
Robertson said Okee-Dokey’s head office in Vernon announced the cancellation of multiple ball tournaments around BC.
He said the planned musical headliner 54-40 have agreed to still play the music festival when the event resumes next year.
