A 20-year old man is dead, and Port Alberni RCMP are saying they believe the suspect and victim knew each other, and there is no ongoing risk to the public.
The man who was from the Port Alberni and Ahousaht areas was found in the middle of 4th Avenue near the Port Alberni Friendship Centre early Saturday morning.
He had multiple stab wounds and died of his injuries.
No word on whether or not a suspect is in custody.
The homicide investigation continues.
