The city is offering a $10,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of whoever caused a large oil spill at the McLean Mill National Historic Site.
Sometime during the week of October 26th last year, 7,000 litres of bunker C oil was released from a rail tanker car, and it has since been determined that the oil was released through a closed valve that was found to be
in the ‘open’ position.

2,000 tonnes of soil had to be removed along with 50 metres of track and a historic dip tank building at an estimated cost of $1.25 million.
