Dometic Violence calls increase by 200%

Domestic violence complaints are up by 200% in the rural areas of the Alberni Valley according to local RCMP top cop Eric Rochette.
In his presentation to the ACRD yesterday, Inspector Rochette said while property crime is down 30% from 2019, violent crimes are up a similar amount, with domestic violence accounting for a third of all violence calls.
He said complaints of uttering threats were also up by 200%, as those charges are usually tied together with domestic violence complaints.
