Gord Johns has been nominated by the Courtenay – Alberni NDP Constituency Association to run again.
Johns said Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is poised to call a snap election as soon as political winds blow in the federal Liberal’s favour, and opposition parties are getting ready.
“People are in tough times and Canadians are struggling,” said Johns. “We’re concerned that the Prime Minister is only looking our for his own well-being and seeking power and a majority government, and he’ll trigger an election when he sees the opportinity is there.”
Trudeau’s Liberals are not even half-way through their 4-year mandate, as the next scheduled federal election isn’t until October 2023.
