Four Port Alberni Schools are reporting COVID-19 exposures after “a member of the school community tested positive”.
Announcements were posted on the School District website last night regarding EJ Dunn, AW Neill, Maquinna and the 8th Avenue Learning Centre, saying the exposures happened early last week.
The individuals who tested positive are isolating and are being followed by Island Health.
The Maquinna exposure went back as far as November 19th, and caused Island Health and School officials to order the entire class self-isolate.
The EJ Dunn exposure is limited to the early years program and does not affect the general student population.
Phone calls have been made to staff and students that need to self-isolate for 14 days, while letters have been sent to those who need to self-monitor, but can continue to attend school.
