Tofino and Ucluelet are asking residents of the Lower Mainland to stay away for at least the next eight days.
In a statement, the Districts of Ucluelet and Tofino, and their tourism and chamber of commerce groups, are asking residents of the Fraser Health and Vancouver Coastal Health regions to postpone their visits until November 23rd.
The announcement follows the direction of Provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry, in citing a surge in COVID-19 cases, announcing that from November 7th until the 23rd, travel into and out of the Lower Mainland and the Fraser Valley should be limited to essential travel only.
Visitors scheduled to travel to the west coast from these health regions are being asked to speak to their accommodation provider and reschedule their trip until it is safe to travel.
