Recent forest fires caused by people

A vehicle fire on a logging road behind Cameron Lake brought out a BC Wildfire initial attack crew yesterday.
The 3-member team was able to extinguish the fire which had started to spread to surrounding trees.
The crew will be back to the site on Ashling Road this morning to ensure the fire is completely out.
Port Alberni RCMP are investigating a small brush fire on Smith Road Thursday night.
60 metres of grass and brush was scorched near the McLean Mill railroad tracks, and was beginning to get into the trees before Cherry Creek volunteer firefighters arrived and extinguished the blaze.
Fireworks casing found nearby led investigators to believe whoever illegally lit them off caused the fire and are asking for public assistance in identifying those involved.
