Quay-to-Quay Path Project

City Council wants to move forward on a Quay-to-Quay walking path, despite reining in capital projects this year.

Mayor Sharie Minions said they want to have a solid plan in place, so when senior governments announce funding for shovel-ready projects, the city will have a design ready to go.

“Quay-to-quay is important to everyone on our council because it represents connecting different areas of our community, and it represents building a waterfront path that will get people out of their houses, walk, exercizing, and enjoying our waterfront,” she said.

Minions said they’ll be meeting with industrial land-owners next week to discuss right-of-way options for connecting Victoria and Harbour Quay.

The city also plans to propose the welcome sign and 3rd Avenue improvements be considered by the federal and provincial governments in the upcoming grant cycle.
