Port Alberni City Council will hold an online budget meeting again today, live streaming the discussions on their website.
Councillors will participate from home, staff from their offices and only Mayor Sharie Minions will be in council chambers.
Council is under pressure to hold off on capital plans like improving upper Third Avenue given the economic hardship being caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
The city is suffering a loss of revenues from recreation facilities and rentals, and will be asked by Harbour Quay merchants today to reduce or defer their rental payments.
While there isn’t the usual public input period at the start and end of the meeting, questions can be e-mailed to council@portalberni.ca
