Two people are displaced after a house fire in Beaver Creek Saturday night.
The fire destroyed 3 cars in a garage and heavily damaged the kitchen and living room area of the house
Beaver Creek Fire Chief Mike Kobus said they were able to save the house thanks to the Automatic Mutual Aid Agreement with the City of Port Alberni and other valley volunteer fire departments.
“It was twenty to twelve when we got the page-out as an AMA structure fire on Smith Road,” he said. “The City, ourselves, Cherry Creek and Sproat Lake were able to hold it to inside the house, and it just shows how good the AMA works – having that AMA, the City guys were there quick and we were right behind them, and to have both other volunteer fire departments there, we all worked together well.”
Investigators will be on scene today to try to determine the cause of the fire.
