Thunder in the Valley could return to Stamp Avenue for the next two years, as the Alberni Valley Drag Racing Association looks to build a purpose-built racetrack in the future.
The set-up will be reconfigured given San Group’s purchase of part of the Catalyst lands, and construction of a mill where spectators used to park.
Dave Beeson said there will be only street racers, no door-slammers that cost money to bring in.
City Staff will prepare a report on the proposed event for council approval.
