City Council agreed to remove the Harbourview Apartments from their nuisance property list, but said they would still keep a close watch on future non-emergency calls to the building.
Mayor Sharie Minions credited experienced building manager Bill Goss with cleaning up the problematic property.
“We have seen a drastic reduction in their calls, from a couple hundred in a year down to zero in the first half of this year,” she said. “There’s a change of mangement at that building and we’re hopeful that will continue, but we’re not going to make any assumptions – we’re going to keep monitoring it and make sure it stays on that course.”
Minions said the Nuisance Property Working Group meets regularly to discuss the fates of multiple buildings in the community where municipal resources are being taxed.
