An elderly woman was returned to her family last night, thanks to an observant PEAK listener.
Iris Frank was heading back to Tofino when she heard the announcement about an 89-year old woman with dementia going missing from a Great Central Lake residence
Frank spotted the woman near the highway and said she was a little shaken and very thirsty, and sat in her air conditioned car until paramedics arrived.
RCMP and members of the Alberni Valley Rescue Squad were scouring the area, and said the woman was found several kilometres away from where she went missing.
