The Alberni Valley Regional Airport received a boost from the BC Government yesterday.
More than $64,000 will go towards an automatic weather observation system.
ACRD’s Manager of Environmental Services Rob Williams said the current system is no longer supported by the manufacturer and lost its Transport Canada certification.
He said the new station will provide real-time weather data that’s required for their Nav Canada application for implementation of a GPS approach – which is a final component of the airport expansion project.
