Dianne Bodnar and Tanya Shannon are back on the Alberni – Clayoquot Regional District Board.
The two were elected in October, but after 13 misplaced votes were discovered, the election was declared invalid.
Both women continued to attend regional district meetings, and sat in the gallery while awaiting the by-election.
Bodnar, who beat Darren Deluca by just 7 votes in October, increased her margin to more than 100 votes on Saturday, beating Aaron Brevick 145 – 44, and Shannon was again elected to represent Beaufort with 89 votes over Ted McGill’s 65.
ACRD Chief Electoral Officer Wendy Thomson said they tried to avoid the errors of the October election by implementing a new computer system to look up where each elector lived and to make sure they weren’t voting in the wrong area.
