Today’s City Council meetings will focus on spending.
The regular scheduled council meeting at 2pm will focus partially on the McLean Mill log pond dam, and the$263,000 allocated to fix it.
City CAO Tim Pley said the city received a violation ticket and a $403 fine from the provincial water manager two weeks ago, because of the McLean Mill Dam.
“We received a ticket from the Province for failure to exercise reasonable care to safeguard from unauthorized operation, and that has to do with the McLean Mill Dam,” he said.
Pley said the city was fined under the provincial water sustainability act.
At 6pm Council will gather again to pour through the proposed projects lists, looking to pare down the 2019 budget.
City staff have identified $300,000 that could be re-purposed to support council priorities.
