Port Alberni city council will return from the Family Day holiday to face a flurry of meetings on Tuesday.
First off is a special report from the city’s interim planner on improvements to the official community plan at 2:30 pm
Then at 4 pm, council will be asked whether they want to keep the 2 acre harbourview area as a park, or sell the city’s best view property for development.
At 6:30 pm council reconvenes to discuss the McLean Mill and tourist train service, which was supposed to happen earlier this week but was postponed due to snow.
Then at 7:30 pm budget discussions resume, where one of the recommendations will be to cancel a solar panel project the past council agreed to, and use some of that $100,000 to purchase a hybrid vehicle for the director of engineering and public works.
