Thousands of Sproat Lake residents now have cel service after Rogers Communications officially powered up their new cel tower on Faber Road.
Sproat Lake Regional District Director Penny Cote said the cel service will not only benefit the 2000 year-round residents and thousands more summer visitors, but also first responders.
Cote said she’s been lobbying for cel service for the past 4 years, and is happy it has finally arrived.
Rick Sellers, Regional President for Rogers Communication says people expect consistent cel service.
The 4G LTE Network service is now available around Sproat Lake, but does not increase service along Highway 4 past West Bay.
