City Council took their first real look at the 2019 budget yesterday, which is already set at a 3% increase from the previous council
City CAO Tim Pley said without a strategic plan from the new council, they’re working with past priorities.
Mayor Sharie Minions says she doesn’t like last council’s fixation on a 3% cap, but wants to hold spending while driving innovation.
She says the new council will work on their strategic plan along with the budget, and by setting some initial goals, they can leave room in the financial plan as other strategic priorities are developed.
Council will dive deeper into the budget at their next meeting this coming Monday.
