The ACRD Directors voted unanimously to write a letter of support for the Huu-ay-aht Nation’s push to have the road to Bamfield paved.
The 85 kilometre long road is known for its dangerous potholes and washboard sections, and is an impediment to tourism, investment and economic development according to Huu-ay-aht.
They are lobbying the provincial government to make the issue a priority in the next budget.
The issue has long been rebuffed by the forest companies who own and maintain the road.
