Another winter storm is battering Vancouver Island today.
Wind warning are in effect for all areas including inland sections where winds could gust to 90 kilometres an hour this afternoon.
Highway 4 is currently closed in both directions as trees are on the road just west of Sproat Lake Landing.
Continued heavy rainfall is also a concern at Sproat Lake where lake levels continue to rise.
Area Director Penny Cote tweeted her concerns this morning, saying sandbags will be available at the Harold Bishop fire hall.
The windstorm has forced BC Ferries to cancel many sailings this morning.
BC Ferries made the announcement on their active Twitter page starting at 4:30 this morning, saying all ferries between Vancouver Island and the lower mainland have been cancelled until at least noon.
They will post updates on their website and social media pages throughout the day.
