City Council will hold a special meeting on Monday, with failed candidates from the October election.
Mayor Sharie Minions said the idea for the unique gathering came from listening to voters during the election.
She said while she has plenty of her own ideas of things she wants to accomplish for Port Alberni, she wants to be inclusive of all people and opinions.
A total of 26 people ran in the recent municipal election for 7 seats.
Minions said the meeting will spark council’s strategic planning sessions, which will be their focus for the next few months.
The 5 failed mayoral and 14 unsuccessful council candidates will be asked the top issues, challenges, and opportunities they heard from people during the election, and the main initiative they would have wanted to accomplish during their term.
The meeting starts at 4 pm Monday in council chambers and is open to the public.
