The electoral officer for the Alberni – Clayoquot Regional District has filed papers with the BC Supreme Court to have a judge rule on the results of the Cherry Creek and Beaufort elections.
According to the application, 13 people who live on Batty and Kitsuksis Road were mistakenly given Cherry Creek ballots instead of the proper Beaufort ballots.
The confusion may have come from the fact the properties, while in Area B, or Beaufort, are also part of the Cherry Creek Waterworks District.
The application will be put before a judge on Monday December 3rd, who will rule on possibly ordering another election.
Beaufort area director Tanya Shannon and Cherry Creek director Diane Bodnar will remain as directors until another election is called.
