Parents are being urged to sift through Halloween candies if their kids were trick-or-treating after police received a pair of reports of pills in plastic containers being handed out.
They traced them back to home near 12th and Melrose, where a confused woman in her 80’s was found giving out a variety of personal items, according to RCMP Corporal Amelia Hayden.
Hayden said the elderly woman had been handing out various items such as mittens, scarfs, calculators, clocks and what she thought were chocolate eggs with toys.
Police said the woman was in need of medical attention, and took her to hospital where she was checked and released.
