One of the mid-Island’s most prolific offenders is back behind bars.
23-year old Craig Hannon had only recently got out of jail after being convicted of stealing a truck in Errington and leading police on a high speed chase through Nanaimo and Nanoose.
Previous to that he had been jailed after going on a crime spree in Port Alberni where he stole multiple Ford trucks and used them to commit further thefts throughout the north island.
Hannon was arrested in Port Alberni last month despite an order preventing him from being within 30 kilometres of the city.
He now faces 49 charges including 13 theft of motor vehicle charges, and 8 counts of theft over $5000.
He was denied bail on Friday, and will return to court on November 21st.
