Voters lined up at Advance Polls in ever increasing numbers over the past 2 weeks.
In Port Alberni, 788 people voted in the first advance poll on October 10th, and 987 came to the October 17 vote for a total of 1775 voters – a 14% increase over the last municipal election advance polls in 2014.
Four years ago, more than 6000 Port Alberni residents voted, recording an above-average participation rate of 46.4% of eligible voters.
The main voting day for the 2018 local elections is tomorrow, with city voters heading to the Athletic Hall at the top of Roger Street between 8 am and 8 pm
