West Coast General Hospital patients won’t have to rack up data charges anymore after the installation of a free WIFI service for both patients and visitors.
West Coast General Hospital Foundation has agreed to fund the service, and will donate upwards of $2500 a year to it.
Foundation Business Director Chris Francey says this is just the latest in a long history of equipment the foundation has donated to the hospital to improve the experience for patients and visitors.
Francey says the continued support from the Foundation is thanks to the many Alberni Valley residents who have donated more than $4 million to the group over the past 28 years.
