The Alberni – Clayoquot Regional District will be organizing information sessions in Ucluelet, Bamfield and Port Alberni to determine their direction on the growing and selling of marijuana.
District Directors decided on Wednesday to a few new rules surrounding pot production on local ALR lands, and are looking at consistent retail regulations as well.
In Tofino, their council has capped the number of pot shops at 2, while in Port Alberni the only restrictions are that they be 1 kilometre apart, and at least 300 meters from any school.
District staff will be setting up public meetings and compiling studies and reports so Directors can make decisions before the October 17th legalization date.
