A 56-year old Port Alberni man was sentenced to 5 1/2 years in prison yesterday, accused of two separate cases of attempted murder.
Dwayne Price was found guilty of hitting another man in the head with a rubber mallet in a drunken rage in June of last year, causing the victim lasting brain injuries.
Then while awaiting trial he stabbed a former girlfriend 9 times in her Redford Street apartment on October 11th – her screams for help recorded by a 9-1-1 operator.
Price had a long history of criminal convictions for violence, and according to psychological reports he showed no empathy or remorse for the attacks.
