Notorious local criminal Colin Affleck was back in jail after breaching the terms of his release last month.
A warrant was issued for Affleck after he was not found at the place where he told the court he would be living, and then failed to report to his probation officer.
Police officers and the judge all told Affleck that he was going to be living under intense scrutiny in Port Alberni, and he should strongly consider moving elsewhere.
During his yearing yesterday, Charlene Patterson told the court she would be willing to pay his bus-fare to Victoria, as her business – Char’s Landing – was one of the businesses he broke into, stealing more than $800 of booze from her bar.
The 36-year old has a record of serious crimes in Port Alberni committed during the last 7 months, and was most recently jailed on 11 counts of theft, 3 counts of Break & Enter, and 2 counts of fraud.
He was released from custody and told the court he’d be living with friends at a specific address near 3rd and Bruce.
