Catalyst’s unionized employees will be voting on a new collective agreement next week.
This comes less than a month after UNIFOR officials were calling for a strike vote due to an alleged impasse in negotiations.
Jim Dixon, Unifor National Representative says members at all three Catalyst mills will have a couple of days to pour over the proposed agreement before voting.
“We’ve reached a tentative agreement that is going to be unanimously recommended at all 5 bargaining units,” he said.
Dixon said Wage Delegates will host meetings at Hansen Hall on Monday to explain the changes, and members will vote on Thursday.
He said no details of the deal would be released prior to the meetings with their members in Crofton, Port Alberni and Powell River.
