City needs community ideas for federal grant

The city is chasing a multi-million grant, and needs your ideas to make it happen.

The federal government is offering grants of up to $50 million to help cities with big, bold ideas about their futures

City of Port Alberni economic development manager Pat Deakin says we’re already a town in transition, and wants to help local suggestions and recommendations get consideration.

Deakin said the idea is to encourage innovation through the data and connected technology, but could include addressing the housing crisis, climate disruption, reconciliation, and many other pressing issues.

You have until April 24th to register your idea at letsconnectpa.ca. We’ve posted the link on our PEAK website and facebook page.

Participants will be entered in a draw for a scenic flight for 3 people around the Alberni Valley.
