City Council is sticking to a 3% tax increase.
After a planning meeting earlier this month disintegrated, council agreed to a new list of projects for 2018 that eliminates some proposals, and moves other projects to 2019 according to Mayor Mike Ruttan.
Council approved the replacing of water and sewer lines along 6th Avenue between Argyle and Bruce, and on Argyle between 17th and 21st, while bumping the multiplex ice-chiller, Grandview sidewalk, and other smaller projects to next years budget.
Ruttan said he’s pleased council was able to stick to the 3% tax increase threshold, and they will begin acceptance of the revised 5-year financial plan at the next meeting.
Councillors Shari Minions and Chris Alemany voted against the proposed budget.
