A Port Alberni businessman is fighting back against crime by offering ascending rewards for their being charged
Wil Puford who owns Van Isle Ford and Pacific Chev says there have been petty thefts at his car lots recently, and he wants the perpetrators brought to justice.
He says the tipping point happened earlier this week when someone smashed a car window at his Chevrolet dealership on Johnston Road.
Pulford says unless the vandal comes forward and pays for the smashed window, they’ll start an ascending rewards program, where every week a hundred dollars gets added, and sooner or later that amount will be enough to tempt someone to name the culprit, and have them face criminal charges.
