The Huu-ay-aht First Nation and partner company Steelhead LNG gave Alberni Clayoquot Regional District Directors an update on their proposed Liquefied Natural Gas export terminal at Sarita Bay near Bamfield.
Huu-ay-aht Chief Councillor Robert Dennis says now that the internal work within their First Nation is complete, they’re beginning to meet with other local governments.
A motion was made by ACRD Directors to support the LNG Project in-principle, which passed despite Bamfield Director Keith Wyton voting against it.
Information sessions on the $10 billion Kwispa’a LNG Project are being organized for Bamfield in the new year.
