A 55-year old man blamed drug addiction but admitted his guilt to a recent shoplifting spree.
Harold Huska was spotted stealing $230 worth of meat from No Frills on October 30th, and when staff reviewed video files spotted him stealing $275 worth 10 days earlier.
He also got away after filling duffel bags with hundreds of dollars’ worth of electronics from Walmart and running out a back door, and a theft from Quality Foods as well.
He was arrested and released, only to return to Walmart three more times, breaching his bail as well as accumulating more theft charges.
Crown Counsel asked the court send the red-seal carpenter to jail for 7 months, while Defense said 2 or 3, before Judge Ted Gouge sentenced Huska to just 23 days in jail and 18-months probation.
