The city is preparing to host public hearings for the redevelopment of the ADSS lands on Burde Street.
The first hearing is set for December 5th at 6 pm, when area residents will receive an overview of the project, and learn about possible impacts on their neighbourhood.
Mayor Mike Ruttan said the area will be a center of construction activity, and will probably force the city to finally install lights at 10th and Burde.
Ruttan said the city has applied for $6 million from the Federal strategic priorities fund to replace and enlarge the water line from the Cowichan reservoir which feeds the Burde Street Reservoir, and the homes and businesses in the area.
