Port Alberni city council has increased business licence fees for pot shops by 250%
The annual fee went from $220 a year to $550, and Cannabis Club owner Trevor Bertrand says he’s fine with the increase
City Council decided earlier this year to sell business licences to medical marijuana shops, instead of banning them as other municipalities have done, awaiting the proposed end of pot prohibition in July.
Only business licences for escort services are more expensive at $2200.
