Local heroes were celebrated at the Ambulance Base on Roger Street yesterday.
A group of Sproat Lake pickleball players were recognized for saving Al Jones’ life by using an Automated External Defibrillator and CPR after he had collapsed.
Alberni Ambulance Unit Chief Bruce Patterson said the recent placement of an AED at Sproat Lake Hall was critical in that case, and they should be more widely located around the community.
