The city has mailed out the first nuisance property invoices, for non-emergecy calls received in March and April of this year.
Beaufort Hotel owners will be billed for 7 calls within that period, the former CJAV building 4, and the Carlson Building 1.
City of Port Alberni’s Director of Development Services Scott Smith couldn’t reveal details about the amounts being billed, but did say the rates will be increasing soon for non-emergency calls to the fire department, RCMP, city works, or the building or bylaw inspectors.
Smith said the Harbourview, or Frigstad building didn’t receive a bill because it hadn’t been included as a nuisance property at that point.
Invoices for the May to June period will be sent in September.
