Six keys to unlocking back country gates will soon be presented to the Forests Minister.
Mid-Island / Pacific Rim MLA Scott Fraser developed the recommendations after meeting with forest companies, local governments, and more than a hundred outdoor enthusiasts who packed a recent meeting on the issue.
Fraser said the problem of back-country access is attracting concern from throughout the region.
Fraser said ideas like security cameras, liability waivers, changes to the Private Forest Land Act, and increased penalties for vandals and litter bugs will be presented to the Minister of Forest, Lands, Natural Resource Operations, and Rural Development and the Minister of Environment.
