Big trees, beer and chocolates have put Port Alberni on a pedestal for travelling millenials according to expedia.ca
The travel website conducted a survey of people aged 18 to 34, and called Port Alberni the hot lumberjack-hipster of British Columbia, and an active millennial’s dream spot.
City Economic Development manager Pat Deakin said he’s willing to don a toque, plaid shirt and unused workboots if it brings positive attention to the valley.
Deakin said as well as a craft brewery and candy shop, we also have clothes stores, barber shops and music festivals that appeal to millennials.
Port Alberni was one of 18 cities on the list along with Reykjavik Iceland, Santiago Chile, Edinburgh Scotland, and 11 other Canadian cities – 4 in BC.
